Our Early Years students hosted an Easter event for children from EKC Folkestone Nursery ahead of the Easter holidays.

Our Education and Early Years students recently had the pleasure of taking the nursery children around the College grounds to showcase their homemade Easter bonnets. The children brightened the day of staff and students alike with their wonderful creations, which they had made at home with their parents.

Karen, a team member from EKC Folkestone Nursery, said, “The students came to us with the brilliant idea of having the children create Easter bonnets with their parents. After making the bonnets, we took the children on a walk around the campus, and everyone loved seeing the hats they had made.”

Following the parade, the students took the children to their Quad room, where they set up a variety of fun activities, including arts and crafts, painting, and cutting. The children were kept busy and entertained, before joining in to sing Easter-themed nursery songs. They then headed back to the nursery for lunchtime.

The Early Years students were also given a six-week project by their lecturer. Leanne, the Early Years Lecturer, explained, “I asked the students to design their own vision of a nursery. The results are amazing and are currently on display in our reception area for everyone to enjoy. These were also judged by our Principal, Neala, this afternoon.”
